Our community advocates programme helps people identify research ideas, supports them with research design, data collection, and understanding of findings.
It could be supporting an existing project, or an entirely new idea brought forward by you or from the community.

You could help us to populate our Research Hub webpage; identifying, collating and sharing research on or about the Isles of Scilly. If this opportunity sounds interesting, get in touch for a chat

BTO Wetland Bird Survey Training

Find out more about the Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS). These sessions are aimed at amateur birdwatchers who want to increase their skills and learn more about the survey.

WiSe Operator & Adventure Course

Monday 12th October 7pm - 9.30pm and Wednesday 14th October 7pm - 9.30pm

Refresher Course - Wednesday 21st October 6.30pm - 9.30pm

The WiSe Operators and Adventure Course is delivered in an online format and lasts around 5 hours, over two evening sessions.

The course will be delivered by industry experts and cover Cetaceans, Seals, Seabirds, Shoreline and Blue Health.

Refresher training is required for all after 3 years to maintain WiSe certification.

The South West Marine Ecosystems programme brings the marine community together to consider changes in our local seas.​

They host a series of themed webinars including seabirds, Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), Fish, Seals and Plastic Pollution, which can be viewed via their YouTube Channel.
